Fletcher Bag A Quick Messenger Bag from Brown Bird Designs Quilts

Last Tuesday, I shared my newest pattern, the Sugar Skull quilt block. I tested the pattern using the Good Spirits fabric by Ruby Star Society. It’s their Halloween line, which hit stores a few months ago. If you follow me on Instagram, you’d know that I used this fabric for a quilt-along with the Fat Quarter Shop. A couple of months back, I made a door hanging with this fun fabric line.

Sugar Skull Quilt Block for a quick and fun halloween project

Since I didn’t have any plans for the quilt block and still had some leftover fabric, I decided to turn it into something. I settled ...

Quilted Plant Hanger – DIY from Brown Bird Designs Quilts

Quilted plant hanger tutorial

Happy St. Patty’s Day!!

I have a plant obsession! I show little snippets of it in my newsletter, but I haven’t talked a lot about it here. Over the pandemic, my plant collection has grown from a small area close to one window to having multiple plants in each and every room. I even have one room that has more than 45 plants in it. I love watching them grow. There is one particular window that has 5 hoyas hanging in pots. It has the best light, and if you don’t believe that, I will have to ...

Escape to a Sightseeing Venture With Capri Fabrics by Katarina Roccella! from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

Capri_banner

One of my favorite things about sewing is getting lost at the sound of my sewing machine! Sewing away, chain piecing, cutting fabric, and next thing you know many hours have passed, and I was able to escape to my happy place. That is the greatest part about this community, that we can all share this passion, and how we can relate to how happy it makes us! A lot of this joy starts with just choosing what fabrics speak to me, and as of recently, all I’ve been daydreaming about is going on a sunny vacation to the ...

Learn how to hang a quilt on a wall with a sleeve sewn to its back. It is super easy to make – no need to turn a long fabric tube inside out.

Thumbtacks and shower curtain rings

I do this all the time with transparent thumbtacks and cool-looking shower curtain rings. It is ...

Season&Spice_Banner

Here’s a fun little fact for you, I write all the collection descriptions from AGF Studio collections! When I first joined the AGF family, I was so excited to start on all the ideas I had for social media, but little did I know that I would also have the responsibility to do so much writing. I was always intimidated at first by writing as I never thought I had it in me to express how I felt, but as these collections were released, I did feel something! Flipping through every print,  I always found myself in another world ...

HOW TO SHORTEN A NYLON ZIPPER (a video tutorial) from Sotak Handmade

 Hello lovely makers,

today I'd like to talk about zippers. Specifically nylon zippers.

You might have noticed that I really like using metal zippers in my projects but recently I started to appreciate the ease of working with nylon zippers and the incredible array of colors they come in.

I usually buy standard #3 craft nylon zippers (the ones available at pretty much any craft store). I went back and forth on what length of zippers I wanted to get but once I realized how easy it is to cut these zippers down to the exact size that's ...

Enjoying the Path of Life With Flight Path Fabrics by Jessica Swift from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

FlightPath_Banner

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to experience how fabrics, colors, and designs positively affected me. I always thought that my style will never change as I always gravitated towards earthy and neutral colors, but there is something about color that always caught my eye. Although neutral colors will always be nurturing, I later discovered that it’s the bright and cheerful colors that complete the mix between cozy and happiness. Sometimes we just need a boost of joy, and today is the day you can experience that with Jessica Swift’s latest collection, Flight Path

Reverse applique flower tutorial copy
Hi, Makers!

As of lately, I've been getting urges to work on some handmade items that are filled with details!
